Hand therapist works with patient

Certified hand therapist Joan Guccione, OTR, CHT, helps Armin Ogresevic with hand strengthening exercises.

Outpatient Therapy for WHAT?

Think Beyond Just Injuries

Dizziness/Balance Problems

People who experience dizziness or feel off-balance while moving may benefit from vestibular rehabilitation. Patients learn proper head, body, and eye strengthening exercises. Balance and gait training also are emphasized, as are effective coping strategies.

Lymphedema

Lymphedema is swelling that can develop following surgery, infection, injury or after cancer treatments. Compression therapy and therapeutic massage is used, along with patient education to learn bandaging and self-care practices.

Swallowing Difficulties

VitalStim® electrical stimulation, along with other traditional therapies, can strengthen muscles in the throat that are involved in swallowing food or liquids.

Neuro-Rehabilitation/Stroke Recovery

A multi-disciplinary team of physical, occupational and speech therapists focuses on improving balance, gait, hand/arm function, daily living activities, memory problems and speech difficulties during neuro-rehabilitation/stroke recovery.
