The cardiologists at St. Anthony‘s Medical Center offer free peripheral artery disease screenings called an ankle-brachial index (ABI) test on a regular basis. “We typically do a physical exam and then check the blood pressure in the arms and legs to see if they are similar,” says Dr. Dobmeyer. “PAD patients will have a noticeable drop in blood pressure in the affected leg or legs as compared to the arms.”
