Acute Rehabilitation Unit
Admission Criteria
- Patients admitted to the Acute Rehabilitation Unit must
be medically stable and have recovered from the acute phase
of their illness or injury. However, they must still require
24-hour professional care and comprehensive rehabilitation.
- Patients must be able to participate in a minimum of three
hours of therapy a day. In addition, they must have the ability
to learn new activities and build upon this learning.
- Patients must be referred to the Acute Rehabilitation Unit through St. Anthony’s Medical Center or another hospital or sub-acute facility.
A physician must order rehabilitation services at the Acute Rehabilitation Unit. However, referrals or inquiries from other hospitals, community resources, family members and concerned friends are welcome. For information, call 314-525-7226.
