Clinical Trials
In order to take advantage of the latest scientific breakthroughs in the treatment of cancer, St. Anthony’s participates in numerous clinical research trials on an ongoing basis.
Through an affiliation with the Cancer Trials Support Unit (CTSU), St. Anthony’s acts as an independent research site. Through an affiliation with Washington University, St. Anthony’s participates in Cancer and Leukemia Group B (CALGB) studies of cancers involving the breast, colon, pancreas, bladder, prostate, kidney and lung, as well as myeloma and leukemia. The National Cancer Institute provides grants for research groups to conduct the trials.
St. Anthony’s Institutional Review Board selects protocols and oversees research conducted at the Medical Center to be sure they are safe and in the patients’ best interest.
