St. Anthony's Supply Chain Management team.
For the second year, St. Anthony’s Medical Center was honored in June with an ASCEND Peak Performance Award, during the Premier Breakthroughs national meeting in Nashville, Tenn. St. Anthony’s is one of six hospitals and health systems nationally to receive the award, and is the only Premier member to have won the award two years in a row.
St. Anthony’s joined the Premier healthcare alliance and its Accelerated Supply Chain Endeavor (ASCEND) program approximately four years ago, and has implemented more than $2 million in savings on ASCEND contracts to date. Perry Willmore, director of Supply Chain Management at St. Anthony’s; and Jim Gleich, clinical resource manager, accepted the award on behalf of the medical center from Pam Daigle, director of the ASCEND program.
“The ASCEND program offers us the ability to get best-in-class pricing without being a multi-hospital system,” Willmore said. “This award belongs to all of the management at St. Anthony’s, for all of the support and hard work they put into this on a daily basis.”
“St. Anthony’s has truly demonstrated excellence in the program,” Daigle said. “Without question, St. Anthony’s is a proven leader in changing the healthcare environment.”
