Curtin Receives National Recognition for Heart/Stroke Care

Robert Curtin, M.D., an internal medicine physician in practice with St. Anthony’s Medical Group, recently was recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for the care he provides patients with cardiovascular disease or who have had a stroke.
Dr. Curtin has been recognized as part of NCQA’s Heart/Stroke Physician Recognition Program. The program, which was developed in conjunction with the American Heart Association, recognizes physicians who use evidence-based measures and provide excellent care to people with cardiovascular disease or who have suffered a stroke. The recognition program assesses key quality performance measures that include: blood pressure control, complete lipid profile, cholesterol control, use of aspirin or other antithrombotic, and stoking status and cessation advice or treatment.
This is Dr. Curtin’s second recognition from NCQA. He also has been recognized by NCQA’s Diabetes Physician Recognition Program for the care he provides to patients with diabetes.
The NCQA is a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. Employers and consumers use information provided by NCQA to make more informed health care choices.
