2009 Scholarship Recipients

St. Anthony’s Medical Center Foundation, in partnership with the Greater Saint Louis Community Foundation, announced the recipients of St. Anthony’s Medical Center’s Norbert Siegfried Scholarships for 2009. This is the fourth year for the scholarship program, which has been named in honor of Norbert Siegfried, one of the founding fathers of St. Anthony’s Medical Center’s board of directors.

This year, 13 new scholarships, totaling approximately $64,000, were awarded through St. Anthony’s Sons and Daughters of Employees Scholarship program.

Sons and Daughters of Employees Scholarships

St. Anthony’s Sons and Daughters of Employees Scholarships are awarded to children of St. Anthony’s employees who are academically qualified with demonstrated financial need. These students will receive support to pursue an undergraduate degree in any field of study at any four-year college or university in Missouri or Southern Illinois University.

New winners of the 2009 Sons and Daughters Scholarships include:

• Courtney Eldridge, south county;
• Allison Erickson, Imperial;
• Kevin Gray, Oakville;
• Lindsey Gray, Bloomsdale, Mo.;
• Chastity Grimes, north county;
• Natalie Kavanaugh, Oakville;
• Joshua Kelly, Barnhart;
• Julie Krebel, Red Bud, Ill.;
• John Morris, south county;
• Sarah Richardson, Hillsboro;
• Michael Russo, Oakville, and
• Jacob Schwab, Festus.

St. Anthony’s Medical Center Foundation provided funding of the St. Anthony’s Norbert Siegfried Scholarship Program. The Greater Saint Louis Community Foundation accepted and reviewed the applications and selected the recipients. The renewable scholarships, ranging from $2,000 to $10,000, have been awarded annually since 2006. When this year’s awards are distributed, St. Anthony’s scholarship program will have provided more than $1,400,000 in scholarship support in four years.
