As a Catholic facility, St. Anthony's Medical Center supports the spiritual and physical needs of our patients and staff. We know being in a hospital with an illness or injury can be stressful for the patient and their family. We also know that the spiritual care of the patient is an important and integral part of the healing process. Our chaplains are available any time to offer spiritual support by calling 314-525-1999. You also can notify the pastoral care team to pray for your loved ones any time using our online "Prayer Request" form.
Our chaplains are specifically trained to meet the religious and spiritual needs of all patients – no matter the denomination or spiritual affiliation. Because each person’s needs are different, we provide a variety of individualized services. The chaplains are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to:

Holy Communion is distributed daily to our Catholic patients by volunteer commissioned extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist from neighboring parishes. The Sacraments of Anointing of the Sick and Reconciliation are available upon request. In addition, the pastoral care staff will attempt to provide the sacramental needs of non-Catholic patients by contacting their pastor or minister as requested.
